5 Entertaining (Un-Corny) Baby Shower Games You Must Play!

As a baby shower hostess you want everything to go smoothly.

It's true, whenever you're at a baby shower and hear "okay, it's time for games!",  your
stomach sinks a little bit - and the thought of having to dress up in a diaper and race to be the 1st to finish a bottle flashes through your mind.

With this is mind, I have weeded through tons of games and picked out 5 solid - safe baby shower games that everyone will love!

Below are the Top 5 Games you must play at your shower
(or at least 2 or 3 of them!)

1) Baby Shower Word Scramble ~ Simply hop on your computer and make a list of 10-12 baby words that are all scrambled up. You can even add a cute picture up at the top. Print off one copy for each guest attending. Give the guests a couple of minutes to finish unscrambling the words. Or you can have a race...the 1st person done, wins! Click to get the printable version of Baby Shower Word Scramble.

2) Baby Shower Bingo ~ Make up a 25 box grid on your computer (5 across/5 down) and come up with a list of 25-28 baby-related words. Include the words at the bottom of the page with the grid on it. Print off as many sheets as there are guests. Have each guest randomly fill in each box with the baby shower words on their paper. One by one, call off each word as guests mark them off with a pen. The 1st person to get 5 in a row is the big winner! Click to get the printable version of Baby Shower Bingo.

3) Baby Under Your Chair ~ A classic baby shower game idea!
Tape the word baby under a chair. The guest who finds this
under her chair wins a prize. (Can also tape it under a plate or
cup)

4) Baby Animal Game ~ On your computer, type up a list of animals in one column. Then in the other column type their baby names. Make them challenging so not everyone can get them right. Click to get the printable version of Baby Animal Game

5) Safety Pin in Rice Game ~ Fill a small bowl 3/4 full with dry
rice. Sprinkle in some small safety pins and mix them around.
Blindfold each guest and give them the chance to remove as
many safety pins as possible in one minute. The guest who finds
the most pins wins the game. This baby shower game idea is
actually pretty hard to do since the pins and the rice feel the same.
Make sure to return all the pins into the bowl before each guest starts.
Then everyone gets a fair chance at winning! You will need: a small
bowl, small safety pins, uncooked rice, blindfold, paper and pen
to record guest results.

Be sure to give all of the big winners some great baby shower prizes!
Some ideas are:
  • A Starbucks gift card
  • A mini-spa basket filled with cute nail polish, polish remover, decorative nail stickers, nail gems...and place them in a cute box or basket! (all of these items can be found at any drug store or Target/WalMart)
  • A bottle of wine
  • An ice cream sundae kit - cute little bowls, chocolate sauce, a jar of cherries, whip cream and nuts!

Hope you enjoyed these baby shower game ideas!

Have fun,
Amy
